1. Acceptance of Terms

By downloading, installing, or using the City Directory mobile application or web dashboard ("Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree to these terms, you may not use the Service.

2. Description of Service

City Directory is a local services discovery platform for cities in Germany. The Service provides:

A searchable directory of local services (doctors, restaurants, pharmacies, etc.)
City alerts and notifications for your selected city
City news and local updates
Multi-language support for navigating life in Germany
A web dashboard for administrators and business owners

3. User Accounts

3.1 Registration

Some features require a registered account. You must provide accurate information and keep your credentials confidential. You are responsible for all activity under your account.

3.2 Account Security

We offer two-factor authentication (2FA) for enhanced security. You are responsible for maintaining the security of your authentication credentials and 2FA recovery codes.

3.3 Account Termination

You may delete your account at any time through the app settings. We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms.

4. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

Use the Service for any unlawful purpose
Submit false, misleading, or fraudulent business information
Attempt to access other users' accounts or personal data
Reverse-engineer, decompile, or disassemble any part of the Service
Use automated tools to scrape, crawl, or extract data from the Service
Interfere with or disrupt the Service or its infrastructure
Submit spam, unsolicited advertising, or malicious content
Impersonate any person or entity

5. Service Data

5.1 Service Listings

Service listings (businesses, doctors, restaurants, etc.) are sourced from publicly available data and user contributions. While we strive for accuracy, we do not guarantee that all information is current, complete, or correct. Business hours, contact details, and availability may change without notice.

5.2 City Alerts

City alerts are published by municipal authorities and city administrators through the platform. They may include road closures, public works, events, and local notices. While we relay these alerts as received, City Directory does not independently verify their accuracy or timeliness. If you have questions or concerns about a specific alert, we recommend contacting your city administration directly. For emergencies, always follow official government and emergency channels.

6. Artificial Intelligence

6.1 AI-Powered Translations

City Directory uses artificial intelligence to automatically translate listing information, city descriptions, alerts, and other content into multiple languages. While we strive for accuracy, AI-generated translations may contain errors, inaccuracies, or unnatural phrasing. Translated content should not be relied upon for critical decisions, especially medical, legal, or emergency information. The original German-language content is authoritative.

6.2 AI-Assisted Content Moderation

We use AI-assisted systems to moderate user-generated content, including reviews, business descriptions, and submitted listings. AI moderation helps detect spam, inappropriate content, and policy violations. Moderation decisions may occasionally be incorrect — content may be wrongly flagged or approved. If you believe content was moderated in error, please contact us via the details in our Imprint.

6.3 No Guarantee of AI Accuracy

AI-generated or AI-processed content is provided "as is" without any warranty of accuracy, completeness, or fitness for a particular purpose. City Directory is not liable for any damages or losses arising from reliance on AI-generated translations or AI moderation decisions.

7. Advertisements

The Service may display advertisements from local businesses. Advertisements are clearly labeled as "Sponsored" or "Ad". The presence of an advertisement does not constitute an endorsement. We are not responsible for the content, accuracy, or quality of advertised products or services.

8. Intellectual Property

The City Directory name, logo, design, and all original content are the intellectual property of City Directory. You may not reproduce, distribute, or create derivative works without written permission. User-submitted content remains the property of the user, but you grant us a non-exclusive license to display it within the Service.

9. Disclaimer of Warranties

The Service is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, express or implied. We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or secure. We disclaim all warranties including, but not limited to, implied warranties of merchantability and fitness for a particular purpose.

10. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, City Directory shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of the Service. This includes, but is not limited to, damages resulting from reliance on service listings, city alerts, or advertisement content.

11. Third-Party Services

The Service may contain links to third-party websites or integrate with third-party services (e.g., maps, phone calls, external websites). We are not responsible for the content or practices of third-party services. Your use of third-party services is governed by their respective terms.

12. Changes to Terms

We reserve the right to modify these Terms of Service at any time. Material changes will be communicated through the app or by email at least 14 days before taking effect. Continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance of the revised terms.

13. Governing Law

These terms are governed by the laws of the Federal Republic of Germany. Any disputes shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts in Regensburg, Germany.
